Memo at the Ave

Today I had an interesting adventure at The Ave, it was a class assignment and I really enjoyed the experience. We were asked to go out and collect information about different business located all along The Ave. I went with a partner named Mony and some interesting stuff happened to us.
First we went into an Arab restaurant, the guy who was in charge had a very unique accent, so it was a little bit difficult to understand him. He told us about the most popular dish he serves called Gyrru Sandwich, and the operation hours of his business that go from 8 in the morning to 230 in the afternoon. After that we went to the Post office, but the woman there was not so friendly, so she didn't want to answer any question unless we got in line, so we just left and took the information from the wall, jeje.
Then we went to a restaurant called Flowers where the bartender was really nice to us. She told us that they serve a lot of kinds of food, like vegan food, Italian food, etc. and they also sell drinks, by the way they open from 11am to 2 am.
Afterwards we went to a Tobacco store where the owner told us he had been there for 22 years, selling all kinds of tobacco at competitive prices. Next, we went to a shoe store called The Woolly Mammoth because it's original owner was a very hairy man, so that;s why he decided to call the place like that.
Finally we went into another tobacco store called Piece of Mind, the guy over there was very nice at the beginning, but when I asked him if they sold anything besides tobacco, he got mad and told us he won't be answering any more questions and asked us to leave the place. We were so confused by his reaction, maybe he thought we were police officers trying to find some illegal stuff, jeje.
As you can see, we had a very interesting and varied experience along The Ave, it was really great.

Who's Memo?

I am Guillermo, and my story until now may not be so long, but it has been very interesting so far. Today I’m 28, and being 28 in the place where I am makes me feel proud of my life. I was born in Mexico city, the year was 1986; my mom and my dad had been waiting for my arrival with so much hope and wishes, too bad that didn’t last so long; my dad left us when I was 3, and that’s the hardest thing I have to deal with, seriously.
After that life’s hard punch, things haven’t turned out so bad. My mother managed to take care of me; she and my grandmother actually. I was educated in a bilingual school, so English has been part of my life since then. When I was old enough, I decided to study psychology, and while I was studying I used my English knowledge to teach; that was a good way to make a living. So when I finished college I already had a job, and started to work on my own consulting room, so now I have the privilege to do both activities, teach English and be a psychologist.

But I was forgetting an essential part of my life; when I was 16 I met a beautiful young woman, who made the decision of joining me in every step of my life, even in the hardest moments. Luckily, that woman didn’t step back at any part of the way and became my wife 2 years ago and now I am complete. So this is my story, in a brief and concise way, hopefully there will be many paragraphs to add as time goes by.
